Today, Michelle Steel and House Republicans passed two bills that chip away at women’s constitutional freedoms and attempt to deny them access to essential reproductive health care.
These measures would use federal funds to spread misinformation and prevent vulnerable communities from seeking essential health care. The first of these was even endorsed by the extreme, anti-choice National Right to Life Committee, an organization that advocates for a national abortion ban.
Steel’s dangerous votes come as new polling shows historic levels of support for abortion access, including 66% of voters who oppose ongoing Republican efforts to pass a national abortion ban.
Let’s not forget that last Friday, Michelle Steel chose to once again sign herself onto a federal abortion ban containing no exceptions — even in the cases of rape, incest, or the life of the mother.
House Republicans are doing everything they can to restrict abortion access, no matter how unpopular.
