Michelle Steel Reminds Everyone That She is Determined to Bail Out the Ultra Rich and Hurt Middle Class Families

House Republicans hold a Ways and Means committee hearing to make a case for extending their massive handout to the ultra wealthy

Yesterday, Michelle Steel and House Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee once again worked to pacify Donald Trump’s demand to bail out the ultra rich at the expense of working families.

Steel remains determined to put politics over people and extend the GOP Tax Scam of 2017. By all objective measures, the scam was an unmitigated disaster for working families, who saw no change in earnings, while top executive salaries increased sharply.

If Steel’s Tax Scam was extended or made permanent, it would disproportionately benefit the top 5% of income earners.

During the hearing, Rep. Steel cheered on the 2017 Tax Scam, saying that it “provided tax relief for families across my congressional district.” In reality, the Tax Scam raised income taxes for around five million Californians.

DCCC Spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“Michelle Steel is selling out working families to please Donald Trump and his ultra wealthy donors. American families want Congress to prioritize lowering costs for the middle class, making the wealthy pay their fair share and building up an economy that works for all Americans – not a government giveaway to the well-off and well-connected.”
