Hoy, el DCCC anunció que Michelle Vallejo fue agregada a la primer entrega del programa competitivo ‘Rojo a Azul’ (Red to Blue en inglés) señalando que el DCCC se invierte en proveer a Vallejo, candidata de alto nivel, con el apoyo necesario para continuar construyendo una campaña ganadora mientras se postula al 15° distrito congresional de Texas.
“Michelle Vallejo entiende lo que necesita su comunidad y está dispuesta a abordar los problemas más difíciles. Michelle conoce profundamente los problemas locales con más importancia – ella sabe de primera mano lo importante que es la atención médica asequible y de calidad y también comprende los obstáculos y las dificultades que enfrentan las pequeñas empresas en el sur de Texas. Los votantes se identifican con su historia y confían en que ella luchará por ellos – un fuerte contraste con la extremista MAGA, Monica De La Cruz,” dijo la presidenta del DCCC, Rep. Suzan DelBene.
Michelle Vallejo es nacida y criada en el Rio Grande Valley y viene de una familia de campesinos, inmigrantes, y empresarios. Su compromiso con el servicio público fue impulsado por la batalla de su mamá por 15 años contra la esclerosis múltiple, lo que la inspiró a abogar por atención médica más accesible. Junto con su papá, Michelle es dueña de Pulga Los Portales, una pulga y centro comunitario que por casi 25 años ha servido miles de Tejanos cada semana, y ha ayudado a docenas de empresarios de clase trabajadora a empezar sus propios negocios para mantener a sus familias.
Michelle dirigió una fuerte campaña en 2022, casi ganando este distrito que votó por Trump y obligando a la NRCC a gastar mucho dinero contra ella. Esta vez, los votantes tienen evidencia de la extrema agenda de Monica De La Cruz que está dañando a las familias de Texas y están animados por expulsarla y elegir a Michelle Vallejo.

Monica De La Cruz apoyó la prohibición extrema contra el aborto del estado de Texas que ha forzado que unas mujeres viajen fuera del estado para obtener atención médica. El aborto seguirá siendo un tema dominante de campaña y la posición empática de Michelle Vallejo resuena con los votantes de este distrito.
Michelle también tiene tres veces más dinero en su campaña que en este mismo punto en 2022.

From knowing firsthand how important affordable, quality health care is to understanding the hurdles and hardships small businesses in South Texas face, Michelle is deeply rooted in local issues. Michelle Vallejo was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and comes from a family of farm workers, immigrants, and entrepreneurs. Her commitment to public service was driven by her mother’s 15-year-long battle with multiple sclerosis, inspiring her to advocate for more affordable and accessible health care. Michelle runs Pulga Los Portales, a local flea market and community hub with her dad, which for nearly 25 years has been serving thousands of Texans weekly and has helped dozens of working-class entrepreneurs start and run their own businesses and provide for their families.
Michelle ran a strong campaign in 2022, nearly flipping this Trump district and forcing the NRCC to spend heavily. This time, voters have far more evidence of Monica De La Cruz’s extreme agenda that is hurting Texas families and are eager to vote her out and elect Michelle Vallejo.
Texas is the epicenter of the fight to restrict reproductive freedom and the horrific examples of the impact those restrictions are having on every day women. Monica De La Cruz supported the extreme Texas ban that has forced women to travel out-of-state to get health care. Abortion will continue to be a dominating campaign issue and Michelle Vallejo’s empathetic position resonates with the voters in this swing district.
Michelle also currently has three times as much cash-on-hand as she did at the same point in 2022.
