Mike Johnson Calls Trump’s Rubber Stamp Republicans “Commonsense.” REALLY?!

Republicans are trying a flawed pivot 75 days out from the election

After Trump’s approval rating fell to an ALL TIME low in a new Reuters poll, Mike Johnson is desperately trying to shift the narrative, calling his flawed vulnerable House Republicans and disastrous recruits “commonsense, problem-solving, solutions-oriented candidates.” It won’t work.

Over the past two years, vulnerable House Republicans have broken virtually every single promise made to the American people. The GOP extremists promised to lower costs on day one – but everything is more expensive, including groceries and gasoline. They promised to “love and cherish Medicaid,” but enacted the largest cut to Medicaid in American history to give billionaires a tax break. And they promised no new foreign wars – but have sent the U.S. into another endless foreign war in the Middle East.

Everything is worse under GOP control of Washington, and the so-called commonsense Republicans have a track record of… nothing good:

  • Rob Bresnahan, who promised not to trade stocks and become one of the most prolific traders in Congress, saying in unearthed audio: ““And then do what with it? Just leave it all in the accounts and just leave it there and lose money and go broke?”
  • Jen Kiggans, who blamed the media for reporting on the disastrous situation on the USS Lincoln, calling it “misinformation.”
  • Zach Nunn, who told Politico rising costs from the Iran war are “overhyped, candidly, by the media.”
  • Laurie Buckhout, who falsely stated earlier this month: “Gas prices are going down.”
  • Max Miller, who spends his time talking about using drugs instead of doing a single thing to lower costs: “The last time I had illegal drugs would have been, I don’t know, several years ago.”

These are just a few of the “commonsense” extremists who are going to lose in November.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“The American people know the Republican Congress has been a complete and total failure. No amount of media spin can save these extremists from their record of rubber stamping Donald Trump’s high-cost, health care-cutting, crooked agenda.”
