Mike Johnson Says “The Time Has Come” to Dismantle Department of Education. What Say You, María Elvira Salazar?

Just a day after the Trump administration announced plans to eliminate the Department of Education, Republican Speaker Mike Johnson reaffirmed their goal – as laid out in Republicans’ extreme Project 2025 manifesto.

Destroying the Department of Education would:

• Threaten pay and jobs for our teachers at a time when our schools need more resources to make America more competitive again

• Jeopardize funding for low-income schools, threatening to lower test scores, graduation rates, and student outcomes

• Throw children with disabilities out of the classroom

• Endanger kids facing antisemitism and other forms of discrimination in our schools

• Increase the cost of college and vocational programs for millions of students nationwide by compromising Pell Grants and funding for career and technical education

Voters deserve to know: does María Elvira Salazar stand with this extreme proposal or with Florida students?
