Mike Johnson Seemingly Backs Trump’s Argentina-First Agenda

This morning, Mike Johnson refused to speak out against Donald Trump’s reckless Argentinian bail-out package, even as American farmers struggle.

QUESTION: Some of your Republican colleagues have raised concerns about Trump opening up the market to Argentinian beef. What are you doing to help American beef farmers?

MIKE JOHNSON: Well, we’re doing a lot of work. We had some discussion on that yesterday. I don’t know the latest developments.

This week, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association made clear that Trump’s Argentinian-first plan would hurt U.S. Cattle Producers and “harm rural America.” Even worse, Trump is sending over $40 billion to rescue far-right leader Javier Milei while millions of everyday Americans are expecting sticker shock from skyrocketing premiums, co-pays, and deductibles if the ACA tax credits expire.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Mike Johnson and House Republicans care more about helping Argentinian cattle ranchers than supporting American farmers. This is what ‘America Last’ looks like.”
