Mike Lawler Abandons New Yorkers During Shutdown For New Jersey Campaign Trail Photo Op

Nothing says “fighting for the Hudson Valley” like running off to another state for a political photo op in the midst of a government shutdown!

As U.S. troops brace for missed paychecks and Hudson Valley families face skyrocketing health care premiums, Mike Lawler is once again refusing to do his job – instead heading to New Jersey to campaign for failed GOP gubernatorial candidate and fellow extremist Jack Ciattarelli this weekend.

Lawler’s spent the past week intentionally picking fights on Capitol Hill, performing outrage on every cable news show that would have him, and pointing the finger at everyone but himself and his D.C. party bosses.

Now, Lawler’s once again ditching work – leaving his own constituents with a shuttered government and a devastating health care crisis he helped create – to campaign with his MAGA bestie across the river.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler would rather campaign for one of his extremist buddies in New Jersey than show up to work for his own constituents in New York. Instead of working to reopen the government, pay our servicemembers, or protect affordable health care, Lawler is doing what he does best: putting politics before the people he was elected to serve.”
