| This past weekend, fake moderate Mike Lawler continued his pattern of cozying up to extreme MAGA loyalists on the campaign trail by bringing not one, but two more far-right Washington politicians to NY-17: TV quack and failed Senate candidate turned CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and MAGA House Speaker Mike Johnson.
Lawler hosted snake oil salesman Dr. Oz at a so-called ‘health care roundtable’ months after voting for the largest Medicaid cut in history and then fundraised with Mike Johnson in Rockland County — doubling down on his alliance with the same extremists who want to dismantle health care, ban abortion nationwide, and put Donald Trump’s dangerous agenda ahead of Hudson Valley families.
Just last month, American Journal News exposed Lawler for running as a ‘moderate’ but “campaigning with a rogue’s gallery of far-right, MAGA acolytes,” including extremist health care slasher Ted Cruz and Freedom Caucus founder Jim Jordan. Lawler has also helped uplift MAGA extremists Jack Ciattarelli and Elise Stefanik in their own races and endorsed both of their far-right bids for Governor.
