Mike Lawler Dismisses Trump’s Attacks on Jewish Americans

Axios: “Vulnerable Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), asked about Trump’s comment, offered only a dismissive wave of his hand.”

Mike Lawler is dismissing presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Jewish Americans during a time of heightened antisemitism.

Earlier this week in an interview with Sebastian Gorka, a top Trump administration adviser who has ties to Nazi-linked organizations, Donald Trump said“Any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion, they hate everything about Israel and should be ashamed of themselves.”

When asked about Trump’s comment, Mike Lawler – who represents one of the largest Jewish constituencies in the country and has publicly backed a virulent antisemite for county legislator – didn’t respond and reportedly “offered only a dismissive wave of his hand.”

DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Mike Lawler continues to remain silent in the wake of Trump’s vicious attacks on Jewish voters. Lawler is failing Lower Hudson Valley communities by falling in line with Trump’s hateful and antisemitic rhetoric.”
