But instead of acknowledging reality, Lawler tried to spin skyrocketing costs and a sputtering job market, insisting that costs are “down significantly” and “things are moving in the right direction.”
After getting called out for “conveniently [leaving] out fourth quarter GDP,” which rapidly dropped to 1.4% and talking about ‘progress’ that just “doesn’t seem to be resonating with voters,” Lawler finally gave up and conceded that he really doesn’t focus his time and energy on how hardworking Americans feel about the economy.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler can ignore voters, but he can’t avoid reality. Lower Hudson Valley families know Trump’s economy isn’t working for them and that Lawler has been a rubberstamp for the chaos driving up their costs. If Lawler refuses to listen to his constituents, voters will make sure he hears them loud and clear in November.”
