| New reporting from Politico reveals that Mike Lawler has been benefiting from the very solar incentives he voted to kill in Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill.
After installing rooftop solar panels on his New York home almost a decade ago – helping him save thousands of dollars and “avoid the impacts of rising electricity costs” – experts now say Lawler “benefited from the investment tax credit” he just voted to kill, making it “harder for people to lease panels or buy electricity from community solar projects.”
Earlier this year, Lawler voted to slash the green energy tax credits bringing millions of dollars to NY-17 and tens of thousands of jobs to the state after months of insisting that he would protect these clean energy tax credits, even sending a letter to the Senate asking them to “mitigate” the negative impacts of his own vote. |
