New analysis from Decision Desk HQ lists Mike Lawler and New York’s 17th Congressional District as one of the “most vulnerable GOP-held House seats in 2026.”
This ranking comes days after National Journal’s House Power Rankings named Mike Lawler the 6th most vulnerable Republican incumbent in the entire country.
Lawler represents a district that Trump lost in 2024 and has an extremely unpopular voting record that includes supporting the largest cuts to Medicaid in history, devastating local hospitals and kicking 37,000 of his own constituents off their health care.
Add it all up, and it’s clear that Lawler’s seat is one of the “likeliest to decide the majority in November.”
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler has rubber stamped Donald Trump’s toxic agenda at every turn – slashing health care and unleashing skyrocketing costs on Lower Hudson Valley families. He won’t be able to outrun his record.”
