It’s now been over a week since the Trump Administration called to “remove abortion coverage from the list of medical benefits for veterans and their families,” and vulnerable Republican Mike Lawler has been noticeably silent.
What does Lawler think about veterans losing access to essential health care? The nearly 700,000 veterans in New York who are at risk of losing access to critical services deserve to know.
REMINDER: This isn’t the first time Mike Lawler has blatantly disregarded veterans’ access to health care. During his first term, Lawler voted to gut funding for veterans’ health care by 22 percent. And just last month, Lawler voted for the largest cut to Medicaid in history – betraying the 1.6 million veterans who rely on the essential program.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler has repeatedly betrayed the brave veterans who courageously served our country. As hundreds of thousands of veterans in New York now face losing access to reproductive health care, Lawler’s silence is deafening and makes it clear that New Yorkers can’t trust Lawler to protect their health care.”
