Mike Lawler Risks Over 63,000 New York Health Care Jobs With Vote For Big, Ugly Bill

LoHud: “The prospect of cutting a total of 63,000 jobs from New York’s health care system would rank historically as a turning point for the industry.”

According to new reporting from LoHud, Mike Lawler’s cowardly vote for the Big, Ugly Bill is set to leave 63,000 health care workers in New York without employment – including 34,000 lost hospital jobs and an additional 29,000 lost health-related jobs.

These devastating job cuts come in addition to state estimates that up to one in five Medicaid recipients in New York could lose health insurance once the legislation goes into effect.

Meanwhile, Mike Lawler is still blatantly lying to constituents, claiming that he “worked across the aisle to protect Medicaid” and “support our hospitals.”

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler sealed his political fate when he voted to kill tens of thousands of health care jobs and kick his own constituents off their health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. He might as well start packing his bags now.”
