Mike Lawler Shrugs Off Record Gas Prices As a “Blip” While Hudson Valley Families Pay The Price

Lawler previously claimed gas price increases from the war with Iran were “absolutely worth it.”

USA Today reports that “on a day reporting historic increases in gas prices and rising inflation,” vulnerable Republican Mike Lawler stood shoulder to shoulder with Donald Trump’s Treasury secretary as he dismissed the pain Hudson Valley families are feeling as a “blip.”
Gas prices have surged 21.1% in the past month — the highest monthly gas price increases in recorded history.

Rather than addressing how Hudson Valley families are being squeezed from Trump’s wildly unpopular war with Iran, Lawler and Bessent downplayed rising costs and brushed off the real impacts working families are feeling.

REMINDER: This latest admission comes just days after Lawler dodged not oncebut TWICE, on whether New Yorkers should tolerate gas prices above  $4 and said gas price increases from the war with Iran were “absolutely worth it.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler looked Hudson Valley families in the eye and stood by as his extremist allies called the largest gas price increase in history a ‘blip.’ Instead of making excuses for Trump’s failing economic agenda, Lawler should be fighting for the people he was elected to represent.”
