Lawler spent weeks posturing as a moderate who would protect energy tax credits – only to turn around and cast the deciding vote to cut them
Fake moderate Mike Lawler is at it again, this time sending a letter to the Senate asking them to “mitigate” the negative impacts of his own vote to slash clean energy tax credits that are bringing millions of dollars to NY-17 and tens of thousands of jobs to New York.
Reminder: After insisting for months that he would protect the clean energy tax credits, Mike Lawler sold out his constituents by casting the deciding vote to take a “sledgehammer” to the Hudson Valley’s economy. His vote could jack up energy costs, eliminate good-paying jobs, and force local business owners into early retirement.

“Mike Lawler’s latest letter isn’t worth the paper that it’s printed on. The fact is that Lawler cast the deciding vote to roll back clean energy tax credits that are bringing millions of dollars to his own district and tens of thousands of jobs to New York. What a complete and utter fraud.”
