| Career politician Mike Turner is in the hot seat with new allegations that he treated his campaign account like a personal ATM to bankroll a lavish lifestyle on his donors’ dime.
New reporting from the Dayton Daily News reveals that Turner is facing a formal ethics complaint alleging he violated federal law and House Rules by “filing a false campaign finance report and converting campaign funds to personal use.”
The complaint details Turner’s campaign spending of over $55,000 on restaurants and tens of thousands of dollars on lodging in 2025 alone, not only at the “Trump International Hotel DC” — a hotel that hasn’t operated under that name since 2022 — but also in Dayton and Washington, D.C. where Turner owns personal homes.
REMINDER: This isn’t the first time Turner has faced scrutiny over his campaign finances. In 2020, Politico reported that Turner had spent over $70,000 in campaign cash for hundreds of trips to ritzy restaurants and luxury hotels. Turner has also been named one of the most corrupt members of Congress by a nonpartisan watchdog after his wife’s business received a no-bid contract from a group that receives federal funding.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“While Miami Valley families work overtime just to keep up, their congressman is busy billing donors for $8,500 steakhouse tabs and hotel suites two miles from his own front door. OH-10 voters deserve better than a career politician who has lost touch with his constituents after 24 years in Washington and acts like the rules don’t apply to him.”
