Miller-Meeks Admits Her Contraception Bill Is Useless

Mariannette Miller-Meeks has been desperate to cover up her dangerous anti-abortion agenda that’s out of touch with Iowans. So desperate that, when asked about her record on abortion, she pivots to talking about an “essentially meaningless” contraception bill.

Now, she’s admitting what we knew all along. At a campaign event this week, Miller-Meeks touted her bill before clarifying that it doesn’t *actually* do anything.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks has consistently attacked reproductive freedom, including contraception access. Her record includes:

  • Co-sponsoring the Life at Conception Act, which would not only ban abortion nationwide with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life but could also ban IVF fertility treatments and forms of contraception

  • Voting for a bill in the state legislature that could have threatened access to abortion, contraception, and IVF

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks can only try to rewrite history for so long before she gets caught misleading Iowans again. She clearly can’t keep up her charade much longer, and Iowans already see right through it.”
