Last night, the Iowa House of Representatives passed a bill that could restrict women’s access to fertility treatments thanks in part to Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Zach Nunn, who have paved the way for these dangerous attacks.
Miller-Meeks and Nunn voted for nearly identical legislation in the state legislature in 2019 that would jeopardize Iowa womens’ access to abortion, birth control, and IVF.
In Congress, Miller-Meeks co-sponsored the Life at Conception Act, a total national abortion ban that would also impose restrictions on IVF access. And instead of supporting legislation that guarantees the right to IVF, Miller-Meeks signed onto a “useless” resolution that actually does nothing to protect fertility treatments.
Nunn is also misleading Iowans in his desperate efforts to cover up his anti-woman record, but the truth couldn’t be clearer. In Washington, he’s chosen not to sign onto legislation that would protect fertility treatments.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“As Iowa moves one step closer to banning abortion and IVF, there’s no denying that Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Zach Nunn laid the groundwork for these efforts – and no amount of lies can hide that. Miller-Meeks and Nunn are getting their wish of deciding if, how, and when women should start a family.”
