Miller-Meeks and Nunn Vote to Raise Energy Costs – AGAIN

After already raising energy prices on Americans when they passed the Big, Ugly Law, House Republicans voted for another bill that will lead to even higher energy costs for American families

Despite electricity prices rising twice as fast as inflation this year, Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Zach Nunn voted to raise energy bills on hardworking Americans today.

House Republicans pushed through an extreme funding bill that slashes $8,925,000 million from Iowa for programs designed to lower utility bills for American families.

The program most hurt by Miller-Meeks, Nunn, and Republicans’ spending bill is the Weatherization Assistance Program, which reduces energy costs for families through energy efficiency.

REMINDER: Under Miller-Meeks and Nunn’s Big, Ugly Law alone, Iowans would see a spike of $345 in annual energy bills.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Zach Nunn have now voted TWICE this year to raise energy costs on hardworking Iowans. Their vote is both political malpractice and incredibly cruel to millions of households struggling to pay their bills. As working families across the country see their utility bills go up and up, the DCCC will make sure everyone knows Miller-Meeks and Nunn are to blame when they vote in 2026.”
