On Tuesday, Iowa Democrats won a special election in a Trump +11 Iowa state senate district – an overperformance of 22 points for Democrats.
This is the FOURTH straight Democratic overperformance in Iowa legislative special elections this cycle.
Republicans are slashing health care and raising costs; backing reckless tariffs that hurt Iowa farmers, families, and businesses; rubberstamping DOGE cuts that are gutting Social Security; and giving tax cuts to billionaires, so it’s no surprise that Iowans are fed up with Republicans for putting special interests first and Iowa families last.
And Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Ashley Hinson, and Zach Nunn should be terrified.
DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Ashley Hinson, and Zach Nunn were already running scared, but now it’s even clearer that they should be terrified to face their voters because Iowans are fed up with their agenda of putting billionaires and special interests ahead of middle class families. Time for Miller-Meeks, Hinson, and Nunn to get their retirement plans in order.”
And a reminder:
- Miller-Meeks’ approval rating is underwater at -14 disapproval.
- Nunn’s approval rating is also underwater, at -15 disapproval.
