Miller-Meeks Is All Tweets, No Action: Farm Bill Edition

Mariannette Miller-Meeks hasn’t said a word about the Farm Bill since she let it expire 16 days ago, much less done anything to pass a new one. Instead, Miller-Meeks is sending a performative tweet about National Farmer’s Day while she focuses on promoting her “star-studded” annual tailgate and attending fundraisers.

Unfortunately for Miller-Meeks, a tweet won’t help the more than 84,900 farms in Iowa or the 9,400 dairy jobs in her district that are at risk of missing out on critical monthly payments.

Iowa families will also pay the price – failure to pass a new Farm Bill could cost U.S. taxpayers nearly $20 billion dollars and more than double the price of milk at grocery stores.

As she and House Republicans begin another week of chaos and dysfunction, Miller-Meeks is cementing their place as the least productive Congress in modern history.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks can tweet all she wants, but it won’t cover up her complete failure to fight for a new Farm Bill and deliver for Iowa farmers and families.”
