Mariannette Miller-Meeks isn’t even trying to hide the fact that she’s putting her party’s politics over Iowans.
At her tailgate this weekend, Miller-Meeks bragged that she’d never quit fighting for Iowa and then promptly admitted to doing just that, saying she was “okay” with her party’s 8% cuts to agriculture funding that Iowa farmers rely on.
She made no mention of the Farm Bill, whose expiration 25 days ago is putting the 9,400 dairy jobs and hundreds of farmers in her district at risk of missing out on critical monthly payments. If another Farm Bill isn’t passed, taxpayers could foot the $20 billion bill and the price of milk could more than double.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks isn’t just completely disregarding the Farm Bill that expired weeks ago; she’s bragging that she has no problem with cutting critical agriculture funding for Iowa farmers. Once again, Miller-Meeks proves that she prioritizes the extremists in her ineffective party over Iowans.”
