Once again, Mariannette Miller-Meeks is siding with the extremists in her party over southeast Iowans.
After voting for extremist Jim Jordan for speaker earlier this week, she’s now doubling down on her support by claiming that she “respect[s] him” and they have the “same value system.”
Here’s a reminder that Jordan’s “values” would be a disaster for Iowa families, as he supports:
- Defunding federal law enforcement.
- Passing a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions.
- Repealing investments that are creating good-paying jobs and reinvigorating American manufacturing.
- Cutting access to Social Security and ending Medicare as we know it.
Now, while Congress remains speakerless, barreling toward a government shutdown, and without a new Farm Bill, Miller-Meeks is fleeing DC to fundraise and rub elbows with extreme presidential hopefuls.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Instead of delivering for Iowans and working to pass a new Farm Bill, Miller-Meeks is enabling the dysfunction in the House and uplifting the most extreme members of her party.”
