Last week, the Congressional Budget Office released new numbers on the impact of the Republican Repeal and Ripoff health care bill that Minnesota Republican Reps. Paulsen and Lewis voted for. The bill would result in 23 million Americans losing their insurance nationwide, but the bill’s impact is just as eye popping in Minnesota:
- 251,400 Minnesotans will lose their health insurance, including 28,500 people in Erik Paulsen’s district and 27,700 people in Jason Lewis’ district.
- $878 premium increases in Minnesota.
- $174,341,262 in increased costs to hospitals for uncompensated care in Minnesota.
“It’s no wonder vulnerable Reps. Paulsen and Lewis are dodging their constituents and refusing to hold in-person town halls this recess break” said DCCC spokesperson Rachel Irwin. “These statistics paint a brutal picture of what’s at stake for Minnesota families if Reps. Paulsen and Lewis get their way. Tens of thousands of Minnesotans will lose their health care and seniors and those with pre-existing conditions will be penalized.”
