Minority Leader McCarthy, NRCC Chair Rep. Tom Emmer, complicit in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s racist rhetoric

Congressional Republicans are choosing Taylor Greene over core American values (again), still silent on Greene’s $175,000 pledge

Less than a week after Marjorie Taylor Greene was exposed for her plans to create a white supremacist caucus in Congress, she’s doubling down on her racist rhetoric with a tweet attacking Black activists that have marched against police violence.

As the family of George Floyd was thanking jurors and civil servants for a fair trial that resulted in holding Derek Chauvin accountable for George Floyd’s murder, Taylor Greene was stirring up her followers with a racist bullhorn. In a tweet, the GOP Congresswoman referred to Black activists as, the most powerful domestic terrorist organization in our country.

Her comments come as the NRCC has remained silent on whether or not it will return or donate a $175,000 pledge Rep. Taylor Greene made to the NRCC in first quarter of 2021.

DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney:

“Every day it becomes clearer that Kevin McCarthy and his caucus are completely beholden to Marjorie Taylor Greene, and her racist, conspiratorial views. In her brief time as a Republican star she has peddled QAnon inspired conspiracies, promoted rhetoric that egged on the insurrection at the United States Capitol, planned a white supremacist caucus in Congress, and tweeted a racist statement in the wake of the Derek Chauvin verdict. While Democrats are fighting for racial justice, Republicans continue to let Taylor Greene’s disgraceful actions go unpunished. The NRCC should disavow Rep. Taylor Greene and donate the $175,000 she pledged.”
