Missouri Voter Calls Out Absent Ann Wagner For Jacking Up Health Care Costs

“Wagner is not what we should expect or accept from our representative in Congress”

After Ann Wagner repeatedly refused to extend ACA credits and forced health care costs to skyrocket, many Missourians are left wondering: Why does Wagner hate affordable health care?

One Frontenac voter thinks they have the answer: Wagner “refuses to do town hall meetings with constituents,” “has no understanding or feel for the burdens caused by expensive health care insurance,” and “supports what President Trump tells her to — not what her constituents want.”

Wagner’s refusal to extend the ACA tax credits means that roughly 362,000 Missourians are paying higher health care premiums this year compared to 2025. Recent federal data shows that more than 55,200 Missourians dropped their ACA coverage following the price spike.

REMINDER: Wagner’s cruelty extends beyond the ACA tax credits. Last summer, she cast a key vote to jeopardize Medicaid coverage for more than 106,000 Missourians to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Absent Ann Wagner is completely out of touch with Missourians. Rather than listen to her own constituents who are struggling to make ends meet, Wagner seems more interested in catering to her DC party bosses and billionaire donors. Voters will hold her accountable in November.”

Webster-Kirkwood Times: Why Is Wagner Against Affordable Health Care?

  • As recently as last week, Rep. Wagner again voted against extending ACA subsidies. This will raise health care premiums for many people in our community.
  • Why is Rep. Wagner so against affordable health care for our community?
  • One reason is that Rep. Wagner may simply be unaware of how folks in our community feel about health care insurance costs. How could she? She refuses to do town hall meetings with constituents; she only does invitation-only gatherings with supporters.
  • Another reason is that Rep. Wagner and her husband (a lobbyist) have a net worth of over $26 million (yes, over $26 million — you can look it up at Quiverquant.com). So it’s fair to say she has no understanding or feel for the burdens caused by expensive health care insurance.
  • The primary reason, though, why Rep. Wagner is so against health care for our community is because she supports what President Trump tells her to — not what her constituents want.
  • Bottom line: If you believe affordable health care is a good thing for our community, if you believe our representative in Congress should place priority on listening to and supporting what her constituents want, not just what pleases the president, then Rep. Ann Wagner is not what we should expect or accept from our representative in Congress.
