Molinaro Makes Moves, Eager to Abandon Community

Forever a politician, Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has no qualms about abandoning his county and his community in his relentless climb for power. Today, the Daily Freeman detailed the potential consequences of his selfishness:

Regardless of the outcome of that election, Molinaro is also running in the November general election for a two-year term in the newly configured 19th Congressional District seat, which, ironically, doesn’t encompass any part of Dutchess County.

[…]

If [Molinaro] wins in November, he would leave office when his term expires on Dec. 31. That [Deputy County Executive] O’Neill could serve as long as 16 months as the unelected acting county executive is the result of a quirk in the county’s charter.

Not only will Molinaro abandon Dutchess County when he loses in November, his actions could also result in over a year of unelected leadership.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“Marc Molinaro’s willingness to walk out on his community for his own political ambitions makes him the very definition of selfish, corrupt leadership.”
