According to new analysis, the Department of Education is withholding billions of funds to public schools across the country, including more than $20 million in grants appropriated to Texas’ 15th Congressional District.
Without these funds, schools in Monica De La Cruz’s district may not be able to hire new teachers, train our educators, or provide affordable after-school care for working families.
As Monica De La Cruz attempts to defend her vote to rip food off of Texas children’s tables, she refuses to lift a finger to ensure that students and working families have the support and resources they need.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Monica De La Cruz is apparently satisfied to let this administration play political football with Texas children’s futures. If she can’t stand up and demand the release of more than $20 million for her district that Congress has already approved then what is she even doing there?”
