MORE GOP MEDDLING IN PA-07: Republican Lawyer and Mackenzie Donor Represents “Green Party” Plant

It’s the latest desperate ploy by Ryan Mackenzie and national Republicans showing just how terrified they are of losing to firefighter Bob Brooks

It doesn’t take a detective or a magnifying glass to see that Republicans are once again seeking to meddle in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.

New reporting reveals that ‘Green Party’ plant Andrew Tupone hired a GOP-connected attorney who “represented President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee” and “also appeared on donor lists for Republican Rep. Ryan Mackenzie.”

Here is what has already been publicly reported about Tupone:

  • ‘Green Party’ candidate Andrew Tupone was a registered Republican as recently as this year, and previously voted for Donald Trump. “Voter registration records show he changed his party affiliation from Republican.”
  • The Green Party of Pennsylvania disavows his candidacy. “‘It sounds a lot like somebody’s just fooling around and trying to use the Green Party name…’ said Tim Runkle, co-chair of the state party.”
  • An out-of-state white nationalist petitioned for Tupone to get on the ballot. “Colin McEvers, who gathered signatures for Tupone in Lehigh County, is a Republican candidate for the Maryland General Assembly who is also listed as the contact for a Maryland White Republican Council.”
  • Ryan Mackenzie and his campaign refused to deny their involvement. “Mackenzie’s campaign did not address that comment when asked about it Monday.”

REMINDER: This would not be the first time Mackenzie’s allies have meddled because they are terrified of losing to firefighter Bob Brooks. FEC filings confirmed that Republicans lit nearly $2 million on fire in a failed attempt to meddle against Bob during the primary.
