On Monday night, damning revelations about Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker’s hypocrisy on abortion made a splash – but they also made Mike Erickson (OR-06) feel left out. After all, he did it first.
It was first reported more than a decade ago – during Erickson’s first failed run for Congress – that he got his ex-girlfriend pregnant, encouraged her to have an abortion, withdrew $300 from the ATM, drove her to the clinic, and left her at the door with the money to pay for the procedure. He then lied about the allegations, before conceding he did give his then-girlfriend money for an appointment – but claiming that he didn’t know what it would be used for.
Despite all this, Erickson still continues to run an aggressively anti-choice campaign. Just this cycle, Erickson has:
