GOP Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick fashions himself to be a moderate who seeks to solve problems — but when he had the chance to benefit more than 100,000 children in his district, he voted no.
Today, the Child Tax Credit, passed as part of the American Rescue Plan, will again benefit roughly 39 million households and 88% of children.
This means presents under the tree, food in the fridge, and gas in the car for thousands of families in Bucks and Montgomery counties this holiday season.
In Fitzpatrick’s district alone:
-
103,700 children will benefit from this tax credit
-
4,000 children will be lifted out of poverty
-
34,700 households will benefit an average of $2,400 annually
James Singer, DCCC Spokesperson:
“Before Christmas, we wanted to remind families in Bucks and Montgomery County that when it came time to decide between helping 100,000 children and partisan politics, Brian Fitzpatrick chose the latter.”
