Mud Pit: NH-01 GOP Primary Gets Messy

It’s getting messy in New Hampshire for Republicans. The GOP primary in NH-01, already a race to the right, is getting personal.

Yesterday, hours after carpetbagger, shadow lobbyist, and “native New Jerseyan” Matt Mowers entered the race, former Boston TV personality and another recent NH transplant, Gail Huff Brown, rained on his parade. According to WMUR, a source close to Huff Brown swiped at the current field full of young Trump impersonators, saying they needed an “adult in the race.”

Karoline Leavitt, an election lie spreader and recent D.C. staffer who just moved back to New Hampshire, also got in the mix, attacking Mowers for “coming back from Washington D.C.” to run in New Hampshire again. Leavitt also attacked Mowers for losing last November, saying Donald Trump “loves winners.”

Julian Acciard has also thrown mud at Mowers, claiming that, unlike Mowers, he wanted to represent New Hampshire “because I still have to live here when it’s all over.”

James Singer DCCC Spokesman

“The GOP mud fight previews more petty and personal attacks to come. As these unserious, extreme candidates focus on fighting each other and for Donald Trump’s affection — Democrats will keep delivering for Granite State families.”
