National Editorial Boards Eviscerate GOP’s “America Last” Budget

National Editorial Boards have taken a hammer to House Republicans’ budget to fund Trump’s forever war that does NOTHING to make life better for the American people.

  • “The pale ale plan reflects the difficulties of advancing spending and pro-growth tax reforms with a small and fractious majority, but is this really all Republicans can come up with?”
  • “[T]he GOP’s lack of ambition and governing agenda doesn’t give Americans much reason to vote for Republicans in November.”
  • “The National Taxpayers Union estimates that the $95 billion price tag of the Republican reconciliation package increases to $135 billion when debt servicing costs are included.”
  • “The national debt is $39.4 trillion. Continuing to increase spending without offsets will worsen an already untenable situation.”

Instead of lowering costs for working families, the Republican budget sticks taxpayers with the bill for a foreign war that no one asked for, adding tens of billions more to the national debt.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“The reviews are in: Republicans’ America Last Budget Scam is a complete and total disaster that will cost them the majority.”
