As the nation celebrates 49 years since Roe v. Wade gave women the constitutional right to an abortion, extremist Republicans like Andrew Garbarino are still trying to take our nation backwards and control women’s decisions.
From voting against legislation to protect New Yorkers from attacks on their abortion rights to joining extreme anti-choice Republicans on an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, Andrew Garbarino has once again placed himself on the wrong side of history.
A strong majority of Americans support Roe, yet Rep. Garbarino has refused to stand up to the nearly 600 dangerous Republican efforts introduced this past year to control women’s bodies and take away their freedoms.
The truth is, if Andrew Garbarino had his way, 36 million women across the country could have their constitutionally-secured rights stripped away from them.
