As the nation celebrates 49 years since Roe v. Wade gave women the constitutional right to an abortion, extremist Republicans like David Schweikert are still trying to take our nation backwards and control women’s decisions.
From voting against legislation to protect Arizonans from attacks on their abortion rights, to repeatedly voting to defund Planned Parenthood, Schweikert has placed himself on the wrong side of history.
A strong majority of Americans support Roe, yet Schweikert has refused to stand up to the nearly 600 dangerous Republican efforts introduced this past year to control women’s bodies and take away their freedoms.
The truth is, if Schweikert had his way, 36 million women across the country could have their constitutionally-secured rights stripped away from them.
