Nevada GOP Candidates Will be Rubber Stamp on House Republicans’ National Abortion Ban

After claiming to support kicking it to the states, Republicans introduce national abortion ban

Republicans followed up on their plan to pass a nationwide abortion ban by introducing two bills that do just that. If Republicans win the House majority, they will pass a nationwide abortion ban, preventing women and girls in all 50 states from getting the health care they need.

Make no mistake: Mark Robertson, April Becker, and Sam Peters would be a reliable vote for Washington Republicans’ nationwide abortion ban, overturning the will of Nevada voters who voted to protect abortion access. And one look at their record shows why:

  • Mark Robertson praised Texas’ six-week abortion ban with no exceptions for rape and incest that puts a bounty on anyone who helps a woman get an abortion, and is endorsed by National Right to Life, which wants to ban abortion without exceptions for rape or incest;

  • April Becker is backed by the extremist anti-abortion group National Right to Life, which wants to ban abortion without exceptions for rape or incest;

  • Sam Peters has pledged that if he gets to Congress, he will introduce legislation that allows the government to force a woman to continue her pregnancy if she has been raped, and could send her doctor to prison if she receives an abortion.

“Mark Robertson, April Becker, and Sam Peters will be nothing but another rubber stamp on MAGA Republicans’ crusade against Nevada women and their reproductive freedoms,“ said DCCC spokesperson Johanna Warshaw. “The GOP field and national Republicans want to let the federal government interfere with Nevadans’ personal, private decisions.”
