“Dark Money Alert” makes clear Democrats aren’t afraid of Big Pharma’s attacks on efforts to lower prescription drug costs
After Republicans got the bright idea to have a Big Pharma-funded dark-money group bankroll a $5 million ad buy targeting Democrats working to lower the cost of prescription medications, the DCCC is hitting back with a digital ad campaign to help Republicans amplify their losing message.
The new five-figure digital ad buy shows that – unlike Republicans – House Democrats aren’t going to bow down to Big Pharma and will continue fighting to lower the costs of prescription drugs.

The ads highlight 16 Democrats (Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07), Cindy Axne (IA-03), Jared Golden (ME-02), Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Angie Craig (MN-02), Chris Pappas (NH-01), Andy Kim (NJ-03), Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), Antonio Delgado (NY-19), Peter DeFazio (OR-04), Matt Cartwright (PA-08), Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07), Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15), Elaine Luria (VA-02), Abigail Spanberger (VA-07), and Kim Schrier (WA-08)) who are fighting against dark money interests and helping their constituents afford lifesaving medications.
With 85% of Americans saying that lowering prescription drug costs should be a priority for Congress, it’s clear that the only ones who should be scared of Democrats’ effort are Big Pharma and the Republicans who do their bidding.
DCCC Spokesperson Helen Kalla
“If Republicans think that spending millions of dollars from their dark money allies for ads touting sky-high costs for prescription medication is a winning message, we won’t get in their way. In the meantime, House Democrats will continue listening to the American people and fighting for lower health care costs to make sure life-saving prescription medication is affordable for seniors and hardworking Americans.”
