As the cost of living continues to rise and be the top issue on voters’ minds, Mike Lawler and House Republicans are working hard to raise health care costs on older Americans.
A new study from the Center for American Progress finds that the GOP Tax Scam would cost older New Yorkers an average increase of at least $1,200 in annual premiums to keep their current ACA marketplace plan.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates the House version of the GOP Tax Scam would result in 16 million people uninsured nationwide by gutting Medicaid and failing to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits. In addition, New Yorkers will see their health insurance costs skyrocket by 38% and 11 rural hospitals across the state could close.
And yet Mike Lawler voted for this price-spiking abomination.
