| New analysis from UVA’s Center for Politics confirms what we already know: VA-01 is at the center of the House battlefield, and career politician Rob Wittman has never been more vulnerable.
The new analysis states:
- With the overall map now seemingly set for 2026, let’s take stock. Assuming there are no further changes, the median House district by 2024 presidential performance is Rep. Rob Wittman’s (R, VA-1) Richmond-to-Peninsula district, which backed Donald Trump by 4.9 points.
- VA-1 also stands out as one of just a handful of districts that voted more Democratic for president in 2024 than it did in 2020…
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Democrats are on offense in Virginia and career politician Rob Wittman has never been more vulnerable. Virginia voters will hold Wittman accountable for enriching himself while voting to hurt his own community, and Shannon Taylor will flip this seat in November.” |
