NEW AUDIO: Miller-Meeks Says Extending ACA Tax Credits is An “Unreasonable Demand”

There are few things Mariannette Miller-Meeks so viscerally dislikes more than Iowans having affordable health care.

In new audio from an interview on Monday, Miller-Meeks went as far to say that extending the ACA tax credits is an “unreasonable demand.”

Miller-Meeks: “…these are enhanced premium tax credits that are expiring. They put the expiration date on it, and now they want to force us to make it permanent when they could not make it permanent? I think that’s an unreasonable demand.”

REMINDER: 24,000 people in IA-01 rely on ACA tax credits. Without them, they’ll see their premiums go up by an average of 98% – that means their costs will almost double. 11,600 people will lose their health care off the bat because they can’t afford higher premiums.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks promised Iowans she’d lower their costs – instead, she says that it’s ‘unreasonable’ to do anything to prevent health care premiums from skyrocketing. What’s actually ‘unreasonable’ is Miller-Meeks’ refusal to stand up for Iowans because she’s too busy working for Big Pharma and the special interests who cut her campaign checks.”
