| A new poll from Navigator Research surveying 67 competitive House battleground districts delivers a devastating verdict for the GOP majority.
Democratic incumbents maintain a positive 3-point job approval and are more trusted to lower the high cost of living. Meanwhile, vulnerable Republicans have lost 5 points both on their overall approval rating and on their handling of the economy. Overall, Republicans’ popularity has cratered to a net negative 19 points.
What’s worse: In districts Trump won by more than 10 points, 54% of battleground constituents disapprove of Trump’s job performance, and 57% disapprove of his handling of the economy.
This data matches what voters are feeling on the ground. On Friday, the University of Michigan’s Survey of Consumers revealed that national consumer sentiment collapsed to an all-time low in May.
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“The GOP majority has been an epic failure and the American people know it, which is why they will elect a Democratic House majority that delivers real results, instead of behaving as reckless sycophants to a wildly unpopular president.” |
