NEW CBO ANALYSIS: Schweikert, Crane, and Ciscomani’s Budget Bill Would Rob Poorest Arizonans of $1,600 Each Year

Richest households would see their resources increase, CBO says

New analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) finds that the House Republican Tax Scam – supported by vulnerable Arizona Republicans David Schweikert, Eli Crane, and Juan Ciscomani – will force Arizonans to foot the bill for huge tax breaks to billionaires.

The new CBO report finds that Schweikert, Crane, and Ciscomani’s plan would cost the poorest households $1,600, while boosting resources for the rich.

This new analysis comes as Schweikert, Crane, and Ciscomani have been lying about their bill’s dangerous agenda of slashing Medicaid, kicking more than 342,000 Arizonans off their health care, and gutting the SNAP programs that more than 294,000 Arizona households depend on – all so they can pay for tax breaks for the richest Americans.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office’s new report confirms what we’ve known all along: David Schweikert, Eli Crane, and Juan Ciscomani’s plan funds tax breaks for billionaires off the backs of working Arizonans. Their agenda to hike costs for families, kick thousands off their health care, and take food out of people’s mouths is as unpopular as it is dangerous. Schweikert, Crane, and Ciscomani might as well file their pink slips now.”
