NEW: “Corporate PACs Kept Donating to Tom Kean Jr. During Capitol Hill Absence” [NOTUS]

New reporting from NOTUS reveals that while Tom Kean Jr. missed over 100 votes in Congress and refused to be transparent with New Jerseyans about his whereabouts while still collecting a taxpayer-funded salary, his corporate donors continued to “[flood] his campaign account with cash.”

Federal financial disclosures revealed that Kean Jr. received donations from a host of energy, technology, and trade association PACs — aligning directly with Kean’s positions on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and subcommittees, “[making] Kean an attractive target for corporate influence efforts.”

While Kean continues to rely on special interests to boost his campaign, his overall fundraising was “nevertheless anemic” with “underwhelming donation numbers from individual contributors.” His opponent Rebecca Bennett raised 3X as much — without a single dime of corporate PAC money.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Tom Kean Jr. found time to play the stock market and cash checks from his corporate donors, but has consistently failed to show up for New Jerseyans.”
