NEW DATA: Mainers Are Paying $170 More for Electricity Thanks to the Paul LePage-Backed Agenda

New data released yesterday proves that House Republicans’ reckless policies are spiking energy costs on Maine families – and Paul LePage is right there with them.

Under total GOP control of Washington, Mainers paid $170 more on electricity in 2025 – a 10.6% JUMP from 2024.

Let’s not forget: LePage said he would have voted for the Big, Ugly Law that made Maine’s energy affordability crisis even worse. The extreme GOP bill is expected to cost Americans $170 billion more in increased energy bills over the next ten years.

Is it any surprise that even his fellow House Republicans are admitting that “no one thinks we’re keeping the majority” in November?

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Paul LePage is running on a pledge to slash energy costs and deliver real relief for working families – yet at every turn, he’s supported a cost-spiking agenda that would do the exact opposite. Mainers won’t forget his toxic record in November.”
