| David Flippo didn’t just lie about earning a Bronze Star “for valor” once. Or twice. Or even three times.
The Nevada Independent reports that Flippo sent out at least 12 news releases that embellished his military record, on top of the three instances reported yesterday by the Washington Post.
To quote retiring Republican Mark Amodei, who refuses to endorse Flippo despite him being the GOP nominee for his seat, Flippo “is a fraud.”
REMINDER: A Bronze Star with valor is an ultra-rare distinction that recognizes “an act or acts of heroism by an individual above what is normally expected while engaged in direct combat.” Military honors experts say that Flippo’s “blatant” lie “denigrates everybody’s service,” is “pretty sad,” and is “a big deal.”
