First DCCC TV Ad in AZ-01 Highlights Tiffany Shedd’s Support for Gutting Social Security
Today, the DCCC released a new TV ad reminding voters of Republican Tiffany Shedd’s dangerous support for gutting Social Security, which could cut benefits for 160,000 seniors in Arizona’s first district.
“160,000,” airing beginning September 1st in Phoenix, reminds voters of Shedd’s support for privatizing Social Security and tax handouts for corporate CEOs that could come at the expense of Social Security and Medicare for Arizona seniors. This comes on top of Shedd’s support of a health care plan that would institute an “Age Tax” where insurance companies can charge older Arizonans over 50 at least 5 times as much for their health care.
DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer released the following statement:
“Tiffany Shedd has a long record of pursuing policies that would devastate Social Security. From supporting the privatization of this crucial program to backing corporate tax handouts that could lead to cuts in Social Security and Medicare, Shedd has shown she won’t stand up for seniors in her community. All Arizonans deserve better.”
