Musk’s financial backing of Ciscomani comes after he voted to gut Arizonans’ health care in order to give massive tax breaks to billionaires and the ultra-wealthy like Musk, and after he championed Musk’s DOGE cuts that hurt veterans.

Ciscomani said he was “thrilled” to work with DOGE, which gutted veterans’ healthcare and cut hundreds of positions at VA hospitals across Arizona. Now, because of Ciscomani, nearly 80,000 veterans living in the district face longer wait times and may even need to travel out of state to get the health care they have earned.
