The National Journal’s 2024 House Power Rankings listed New York’s Seventeenth Congressional District as one of the top five most competitive races in the country. The House Power Rankings comes on the heels of Roll Call and Cook Political ranking Lawler one of the most vulnerable Congressmen for 2024 as well.
This comes as no surprise, considering vulnerable New York Republican Mike Lawler voted for devastating cuts to critical services included in MAGA Republicans’ failed Friday C.R., backtracked on campaign promises to restrict abortion nationally for servicemembers and their families, and protected criminally-indicted George Santos.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Mike Lawler is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the country. Make no mistake, we’re going to hold Lawler accountable next fall.”
