NEW: National Journal Power Rankings Give Democrats the Midterm Advantage in Seats Most Likely To Flip

National Journal: “The tide is turning in Democrats’ favor.”

According to House Power Rankings from the nonpartisan National Journal, Republicans occupy a majority of the seats most likely to flip in this year’s midterms elections.

The 12 House Republican seats most likely to flip are:

  • OPEN (NE-02)
  • Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07)
  • Rep. Gabe Evans (CO-08)
  • Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01)
  • Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06)
  • Rep. Scott Perry (PA-10)
  • Rep. Mike Lawler (NY-17)
  • Rep. Zach Nunn (IA-03)
  • Rep. Derrick Van Orden (WI-03)
  • Rep. Darrell Issa (CA-48)
  • Rep. David Valadao (CA-22)
  • Rep. Tom Barrett (MI-07)

Representatives Miller-Meeks, Ciscomani, and Nunn all saw their districts climb in the rankings as they face formidable Democratic challengers on the DCCC’s Red to Blue program. With GOP incumbents retiring en masse, there’s no denying that Republicans can see the writing on the wall.

DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley:
“Democrats are on offense and House Republicans are running scared as they fail to explain their one big broken promise to lower costs for hardworking families. Prices are skyrocketing from the gas pump to the grocery store, unemployment is rising, and health care is unaffordable. Voters are fed up and ready to vote Republicans out of office this November.”
